Beat the cold weather this winter with these 3 fool proof tricks.
Winter will always be the time of the year where motivation dwindles. It will always bring out all the bad habits you have been trying to correct throughout the warmer months.
Remember: HABITS WILL ALWAYS OUT WEIGH INTENTIONS.
Your intention to lose fat, get fit or build mass during warmer weather seems a lot more achievable. Until winter hits and the momentum you had built becomes non-existent.
Before we talk about great nutrition and an amazing gym program, you must first address your reason WHY you MUST eat well and train hard, otherwise your efforts will be fruitless.
Let’s begin with something simple;
1. BE ACCOUNTABLE
This term is thrown around a lot these days in the fitness industry. However, what does it mean? It means anything that will make you think twice about quitting. It is anything that will make you feel guilty about not hitting the gym. Some may call it the ‘blackmail diet’.
Make a commitment to more than just yourself. Grab a buddy. Sign up to a class. Book a photoshoot as an end goal.
2. CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK
Changing the way you think is a lot more powerful than you believe.
If I said to you that I would like you to train with me at 5am tomorrow morning, and I’ll guarantee you a great workout, what did you automatically hear??
‘5am………..5am…….5am’ is that all you heard?
The way you think about any situation says a lot about you and your goals. Now you have added in some cold weather and suddenly your goal has been thrown out of the window. Expecting the colder weather to arrive is a good way to begin, because when it does arrive it is not so much of a shock. It’s to be expected, so you'll just keep rolling with the punches, and get on with it.
3. DON’T B#$%*IT YOURSELF
Don’t get caught up in the same old BS story you keep telling yourself.
The areas of your life that you have full control over, you have no inner conflict. That is when you know you have really mastered what you set out to do. Take a step back if you have inner conflict and understand that there needs to be some attention. Identify what the problem is, squash it with point 1, refocus and keep repeating until nothing holds you back.
